NECBA Presents: Sending Shivers Down Their Spine: Selling Horror to Kids and Teens
Does the thought of selling horror to children frighten you? How can having a better understanding of horror subgenres and tropes inform your handselling to different age-groups? This panel discussion, featuring authors writing for tweens and teens, will speak to the wide range of horror, its significance and popularity, and how authors (and bookstores) are marketing and promoting the genre, so you can handsell with confidence. Time will be reserved for audience questions and idea sharing.

Moderator
Rachel Bolton (Manager of Wicked Good Books in Salem, MA)

Panelists
Codie Crowley (author of Body Count and Here Lies a Vengeful Bitch / Disney Hyperion)
David Elliott (author of Bonebag with E.M. Elliott / Astra Books for Young Readers)
Freddie Kölsch (author of Spindlewood (forthcoming / Balzer + Bray / Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group), Empty Heaven and Now, Conjurers / Union Square & Co)
