Our Mission

The Mission of the New England Independent Booksellers Association is to further the success of professional independent booksellers in New England and to foster a vital and supportive bookselling community.

Who We Are

NEIBA is the non-profit trade association for the retail book industry in New England. Serving independent booksellers since 1973, NEIBA has over 200 members representing more than 150 bookstores. NEIBA is governed by an elected Board of Directors that meets regularly with the Advisory Council and Executive Director. NEIBA’s office consists of two full-time employees: Executive Director, Beth Ineson and Marketing Coordinator, Ali Schmelzle.

What We Do

NEIBA promotes independent bookselling in the six New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) and New York through an annual Fall Conference, educational programming, publications, resources, and promotional programs.
