NEIBA Scholarship

2016 Rusty Drugan Scholarship Winner
Cathy Taylor

Cathy Taylor is a bookseller at Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, VT, where she has worked since April. She previously worked at The Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot, CT, where she began her career in bookselling.  A native New Englander, she turned a disinclination for both the outdoors and the cold into a long-lasting love of reading. She is likely to be found in either the fiction or poetry sections.  At the bookstore, she most frequently recommends Wolf Hall, by Hilary Mantel, a novel she is convinced was written with her interests specifically in mind.  Other beloved authors include Zadie Smith, Tony Hoagland, and Oscar Wilde.  After a day of happily pressing her favorite books on people, Cathy is probably writing, reading, or stargazing.
