Education – What We Do Now
Our afternoon education will feature a panel of booksellers who will share with us the steps they are taking in their stores, and in their communities, to foster a more diverse environment. We’ll hear about changes in store sections and displays, book clubs and events, children’s bookselling and community outreach. We will have plenty of time for Q&A. Our goals are to open the definition of diversity, and to leave the session with positive and actionable ideas that all stores will be able to use.
With Nicole Brinkley – Director of Special Projects, Oblong Books & Music, Rhinebeck, NY; Joan Grenier – Owner, Odyssey Bookshop, South Hadley, MA; Lisa Gozashti – Co-owner and Merchandising Manager, Brookline Booksmith, Brookline, MA.
Moderated by Tom Hallock – Associate Publisher, Director of Sales and Marketing, Beacon Press
