Assistant Café Manager - An Unlikely Story - Plainville, MA

An Unlikely Story is a new bookstore and café opening in the center of Plainville. We are creating a warm welcoming environment filled with great books, unique gifts and healthy food.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional Assistant Café Manager with experience in management, inventory control, customer service and food preparation. The ideal candidate will share in our belief of delivering good, healthy and locally sourced food with efficient and friendly service.

The successful candidate should have culinary and business backgrounds, with a proven ability to establish excellent relationships with customers and team members alike. He/she should have at least three years of experience as an assistant café manager and be able to work weekends.

Assistant Manager Responsibilities:

Oversight of entire Café operations

Provide superior customer service

Cost control of product and labor

Daily cash handling and reconciliation

Oversight of food production and presentation

Ensure cleanliness of the café and food prep areas

Inventory and ordering

Hiring, training and scheduling of Café staff EOE
