New England Independent Booksellers Association
NEIBA All About the Books

& ABA Spring Forum

Wednesday, April 30, 2014
Bordy Theater - Emerson College, 216 Tremont Street, Boston, MA
Please join NEIBA and the ABA for a day of authors and education. The morning and early afternoon will be devoted to All About the Books, with 10 authors talking with us about their new books, and joining us for a boxed lunch. The afternoon will be for the ABA Forum and Education
Each spring, ABA staff travels around the country to meet with member booksellers. These forums, held in conjunction with the regional bookseller associations, are designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to share ideas, discuss industry issues, and receive updates on various association projects, and are open to all booksellers - ABA members and non-members alike. Each program offers an ABA education session and an open forum discussion.
11:00 - 2:00
NEIBA All About the Books
We will be joined by 10 authors, including 2 children's books authors, who will introduce us to their new books that are coming to our stores this Spring and Summer. They will all be joining us afterwards for lunch and conversation.
2:00 - 4:00
ABA Education - Conversations That Work
With ABA CEO, Oren Teicher; Senior Program Officer, Joy Dallanegra-Sanger; Content Officer,
Dan Cullen and Member Relationships Manager, Catherine Cusick.

The business of brick and mortar books retail offers all the rewards and frustrations that come with working with the public. Technology has added a new layer of challenges that all of us have had to contend with, one way or another. Conversations That Work will address what to say and how to handle a variety of irksome situations in the store, such as showrooming, copying information, and aggressive customers.

ABA Spring Forum
ABA executives will lead an open forum and discuss industry issues. Attendees help guide the agenda of the forum, so please come with questions and comments.

The Spring All About the Books and ABA Education and Forum promises to be
a full day of learning, sharing and discovery. We hope to see you all there.

Thanks to Bookazine for their support of All About the Books
