The position requires an individual with at least three years of prior retail management experience (bricks and mortar and online), a commitment to working directly with youth and a track record of motivating and supervising staff to establish and meet high performance standards around managing cost effective inventory and distribution, marketing and merchandising, customer service, and profitability. Assistant Manager – Bookstore – Full-time
Willow Books & Café, one of New England’s largest independent bookstores, is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager. This position involves supervising a large staff and assisting in management of all aspects of a successful, high-volume, 10,000 square foot bookstore w/café.
Applicants must have retail management experience and some bookstore background. Customer service skills and a love of books are essential. E-commerce and social networking skills a plus. Fast-paced and friendly, professional but non-corporate environment. Experience preferred but intelligence, creativity, and desire to learn are even more important.
